Veteran broadcaster Ray Hadley has blasted Malcolm Turnbull in a vicious spray over the former prime minister’s comments about Scott Morrison.

Malcolm Turnbull has been blasted a “complete and utter nark” by broadcaster Ray Hadley in a vicious spray after the former prime minister claimed Scott Morrison had a track record of lying.

Mr Turnbull was in the spotlight on Wednesday while attending COP26 in the UK, calling Prime Minister Scott Morrison a liar over the botched $90 billion submarine deal which has seen Australia fall out with France.

“He‘s always been a liar,” Mr Turnbull said at the time.

But on 2GB’s morning program, radio host Hadley let loose, calling Turnbull a “complete and utter nark” and accusing him of “siding” against Australia on the issue.

Hadley claimed Turnbull had destroyed his legacy as Australia‘s prime minister, and called him a “complete and utter nark”.

“(Malcolm Turnbull) doesn‘t have a legacy, as far as I’m concerned that’s gone,” Hadley said on air.

“An unwanted nuisance, that’s what Malcolm’s been in Glasgow … you’re just a nark, a complete and utter nark.”

He added: “You’re a whinging, complaining nark who needs to shut up … some would say, ‘shut the f up’.”

It comes as one of Malcolm Turnbull’s biggest backers sensationally refuted the former prime minister’s claims about Scott Morrison’s truthfulness, saying that “in my experience, Scott Morrison never lied to me”.

Christopher Pyne, the former Liberal MP for the South Australian seat of Sturt, reportedly also said “not in my experience” when asked whether Mr Morrison had a reputation as a liar in Canberra.

Mr Pyne’s statements are particularly noteworthy as he once said, “Malcolm is Aslan to me,” referring to the talking lion also known as the King of Beasts and the King Above All High Kings in the Chronicles of Narnia series.

Bringing jobs to Adelaide electorates such as Mr Pyne’s was thought to be a key consideration in the Turnbull government’s 2016 decision to ink a deal with France to build diesel submarines in South Australia.

Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce also hit out at Mr Turnbull‘s claims, telling the ABC the ex-PM needed to “reflect” on his legacy and said he thought Julia Gillard or John Howard would never ”have said something like that”.

Foreign Minister Marise Payne, who was a supporter and friend of Mr Turnbull, also weighed in on his comments. “I don’t support that, and I don’t agree with that,” she told 2GB.
