A man has died after his motorcycle collided with the back of a utility on the Gore Hill Freeway, forcing the closure of all northbound lanes and sparking a major emergency response.

A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a utility vehicle on the Gore Hill Freeway at Naremburn on Sydney’s North Shore.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 10.30am on Wednesday, after reports a motorcycle had slammed into the rear of a ute on the northbound side of the freeway, just past Willoughby Rd.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the male rider died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
The driver of the utility was not injured but was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
The crash forced the closure of all northbound lanes and one of three southbound lanes, causing heavy delays throughout the area. A rescue helicopter and multiple emergency crews attended the scene.
Officers from North Shore Police Area Command and the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area, reduce speed and expect significant delays while the scene is cleared and investigations continue.
