A host of venues – from a peanut butter dessert bar, to an inner-city “butcher restaurant’’ and licensed Mediterranean restaurant – have been confirmed to form the “eat street” at a new Merrylands residential development.

Coronation Property has revealed the tenants to form the “exciting new dining hub” of the Mason and Main apartments, where the $250m first stage opened in March.

Renowned inner-city steak house Macelleria will be among the marquee restaurants to lend a “superior” dining precinct in the heart of the suburb.

Macelleria, Peanut Butter Bar, Yuzu Dining, San Churro and Oakberry open their doors alongside Mase & Co, Hayat Turkish and Iftar Lebanese in August.

Macelleria, known as the “butcher that cooks for you” will offer a large selection of high-grade meat cuts, signature sausages, skewers and burgers.

Diners can also feast on bread that is freshly-baked on the premises, poultry, seafood and vegetarian options.

Macelleria founder Peter Zaidan said he was happy to put Merrylands on the food map.

“We have a strong western Sydney customer base who regularly travels to our Newtown and Bondi stores,’’ he said. “We’re thrilled to offer those regulars a local option that they can share with their family and friends.”

Rosemary Georges and Maria Moussa, who co-own McFarlane St stapel Mase Cafe, will also open a second site within Mason and Main where it will serve modern cuisine with a Mediterranean twist, including a fully functional bar with a generous range of wines, beers, spirits and cocktails.

“We are delighted to join ‘eat street’ and expand on our existing cafe which has been successfully operating in Merrylands for the past five years,’’ Ms Georges said.

“This is doing wonderful things for the local area and we wanted to be a part of that.’’

Another Merrylands mainstay, Hayat Turkish, which has served the community since 2003, brings its popular dishes to Mason and Main.

Those pining for dessert can stroll to Peanut Butter Bar, a “decadent dessert bar for lovers of that delectable spread, and featuring a selection of items exclusive to Merrylands.

Chocolatier San Churro also caters for those with a sweet tooth, with the eatery serving Spanish desserts.

While Merrylands is best known for its Middle Eastern fare, Yuzu Dining will cater for palates with a penchant for Asian fare thanks to its authentic Japanese food, which will be delicately prepared using fresh hand-picked local ingredients.

Health conscious visitors can make a beeline for Oakberry and snap up some delicious superfood with the Brazilian acai bowls and smoothies.

Businesses also cater for its thriving Middle Eastern community with the family-owned Iftar Lebanese where Campos coffee and a mocktail bar are on offer.

The eat street will feature pedestrian-only laneways, 147 dedicated retail car spaces, electric car charging stations and GoGet car share services.

Coronation owner Joe Nahas welcomed the “high calibre” of retail tenants to Mason and Main.

“We see Eat Street as a significant opportunity to bring Mason and Main residents, the local community, families and friends together in a shared experience that’s usually reserved for the inner-city,’’ he said.

“Our vision is to introduce diverse dining options to Merrylands, for everyone to enjoy.’’

Mason and Main is Coronation’s largest project and, upon completion in December, there will be almost 850 build-to-sell and build-to-rent apartments.

The complex will also feature a swimming pool, a One Playground gym, a childcare centre, rooftop gardens, a sauna, private dining room, workspaces exclusively for residents.
