Maroons great Corey Parker urges Qld to bring back the biff if needed

The Origin decider promises to be a blockbuster and one Maroons great is urging his state to not hold back from going the biff.

When will Slater unleash Ponga in Origin decider?

Let’s stick it to the Blues.

I get the feeling this Game Three is going to be a talking point for a long time. There is going to be a powderkeg moment. There are big names and big storylines rumbling. Something is going to explode and we’ll be talking about it for years.

Something major is brewing.

I was throwing air punches at the TV the other week when Spencer Leniu (NSW forward) ran from 15 metres to get into a push and shove.

If you are 34 points down, just put one on him. What have you got to lose? Just start throwing them. Don’t let Leniu start bullying us. Can you imagine Matt Scott, Petero Civoniceva or Nate Myles copping NSW’s crap?

Forget the whole NRL club mentality and the fact these guys may have been buddies in Australian teams together.

This is Queensland versus NSW. If a Blues player takes them on, someone in the Queensland team has to step up and say I won’t stand for this.

This NSW doesn’t fear the Maroons pack. They would respect them but there wouldn’t be any fear, nor should Queensland fear them.

Queensland need to get some mongrel.

Lindsay Collins, Reuben Cotter, Jeremiah Nanai, Pat Carrigan ... fire up.

The Maroons were bullied in Game Two and when I think about which player in this Maroons team can take on the Blues, I think it’s Pat Carrigan.

He well and truly has the qualities to take Queensland where they need to go.

I remember Pat’s debut game off the bench for Queensland. He came on and absolutely whacked a Blues player with his first tackle and set the tone for the whole (2022) series. He has the presence to do it. He can’t do it by himself, but Pat Carrigan is the man to lead the Queensland charge.

It’s one thing to complete your tackles but someone needs to send a message in this Queensland team.

From the first minute, Pat Carrigan should go out there and whack Payne Haas - his Broncos teammate - and send a statement to NSW that we’re here to play.

I remember playing against my best mate Michael Ennis in Origin. He hit me with a swinging arm across the nose and the next run I did, I hit him with my forearm.

Pat should make a statement. Fly out of the line and level Payne. Whack him. They are best mates. but that’s what Origin is about, mate versus mate.

Payne Haas is their big dog, so Carrigan should take it upon himself to go after Haas.

We all know the unbelievable effort Carrigan brings, but I want to see his aggression go to another level.

I remember the last Suncorp decider in 2022. Matt Burton had an opportunity to sidestep Ponga and he ran straight into him. Dane Gagai grabbed Burton and said we’re not having any of this and punched him in the face.

That’s the mindset Queensland need. Do not be bullied by NSW. Do not stand for their crap.

Where are you taking your body to? Where are you taking your mind to? Do we want it more than NSW?

If that’s our mindset, Queensland will win this decider.
