Jacqui Lambie has built a loyal following of mature voters for her outspoken views — but this week, it’s the younger generation who like what they see.
The crossbench senator has begun trending on video app TikTok in recent days after her fiery spray in federal parliament aimed at Pauline Hanson and One Nation’s bill to ban vaccine mandates imposed by states.

In her rant, Ms Lambie slammed the far-right party as the “enemy of healthcare workers” and told Ms Hanson to “be an adult and put others before yourself”.
“Being held accountable for your actions isn’t called discrimination, it’s called being, you wouldn’t believe it, a goddamn bloody adult,” she said.Audio of the blistering debate has now gone viral with TikTok users remixing Lambie‘s speech into music, performing dances with it as a backing track and sharing the audio while declaring their approval.
One creative user even edited Lambie’s head onto videos of pin-ups dancing with the remix of her speech playing in the background.

Ex-army soldier Lambie has previously been the subject of criticism on TikTokkers for her controversial stance on issues such as cashless welfare cards and gay marriage and her vocal opposition of refugees and Islam, which included staunch support for banning the burqa in years past.
But her pro-vaccine comments prompted many TikTok users to forgive and forget.
“As much as I disagree with Jacqui on a lot of her policies, I absolutely agree with this, she’s right,” one wrote.“Even a Muslim refugee like me was clapping for Jacqui today,” another wrote.
A third added: “Never been a big fan of Lambie but loved these remarks … she really ripped Pauline a new one.”
“What the bloody hell has this world come to when I find myself agreeing with Jacqui Lambie.”
It is the latest in the phenomenon of young voters positively latching onto comments made by politicians and public figures who are typically criticised by younger generations.

The target of Ms Lambie’s ire, One Nation leader Pauline Hanson, attracted bemused applause on Twitter recently for a cartoon web series which featured caricatures of the Prime Minister and senior members of parliament.

Audio of Gladys Berejiklian and former partner and Wagga Wagga MP Daryl Maguire discussing money played during an ICAC hearing was also remixed into a viral dance tune earlier this month, spliced together with band ABBA’s hit Money Money.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews became both a meme and an internet legend earlier this year when his infamous “get on the beers” quote was turned into a club remix by dance duo Mashd N Kutcher.

And years earlier, conservative commentator Alan Jones surprised young viewers on ABC’s Q&A by declaring he was a “feminist” who “certainly believes in gender equality”.
