A large blaze at an industrial complex near Liverpool is closer to being extinguished while up to 100 firefighters work to contain the inferno.

A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman said multiple calls were made to triple-0 just after 2pm reporting a fire at a commercial business complex on Kaleski St, Moorebank.

Residents in surrounding areas have been evacuated. There are no reports of injuries at this stage.

He said the fire had affected most of the six businesses contained in the small complex where it broke out.

He said 26 fire trucks and up to 100 firefighters were now on the scene, with two platforms being used to battle the blaze from above while crews worked from “every other angle” to extinguish the fire and stop it from spreading to any other complexes.

He said as of 4.10pm, the fire was not yet extinguished but was getting easier to contain.

Residents are urged to avoid the area.
