Elderly man dies after being pulled from surf at Cabbage Tree Bay Beach on Central Coast

A 73-year-old man has died on the Central Coast despite the best efforts of swimmers to revive him.

Lifesavers call for more safety measures at state beaches following two Easter drownings

An elderly man has died after being pulled from the ocean on the Central Coast.

Emergency services were called to Cabbage Tree Bay Beach at Norah Head after reports members of the public were performing CPR on a man who had been dragged from the surf.

Tuggerah Lakes Police District officers assisted with CPR until the arrival of paramedics, who transported the 73-year-old man to Wyong Hospital.

He died a short time later.

Police are investigating and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
