High-end Instagram model Coco the Pekapoo has added another gong to her list of honours after being voted Australia’s Top Dog by her legion of social media followers.

The seven-year-old toy poodle-Pekingese cross has 51,000 Instagram followers around the world and her Australian fans overwhelmingly gave her the People’s Choice award ahead of 500 others in the OZ TOP DOG beauty pageant for pooches.

Coco’s modelling career took off about four years ago “just for fun” and has now turned into a full-time career for the pampered pooch who is “very picky” with advocating high-end brands such as Tiffany and Coco Chanel.

“She’s known on Instagram for Tutu Tuesdays, her parties, her fashion and things like that. She does a lot of paid sponsored posts, but we’re very picky because at the end of the day we’re representing our brand,” her Kellyville owner Alina Michaels said.

Two years after her win at Sydney’s Bow Wow 100, Coco takes home a $1000 voucher and a pair of slick ‘doggles’, basically sunnies for dogs.
