VIRGIN Australia is hiring more than 150 new cabin crew, adding 10 Boeing 737s and has revealed new route plans that include Perth to Darwin, Melbourne to Darwin and Brisbane to Alice Springs services.
CEO Jayne Hrdlicka announced the major ramp-up at a cabin crew training school in Brisbane.
The company is adding 10 more aircraft and another 220 return flights a week.
Ms Hrdlicka said the carrier was strongly focused on its domestic recovery program as it built a “strong and disciplined business”.
Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) will operate an Airbus A320 aircraft between Perth-Darwin.

Virgin also plans Fokker 100 services between Brisbane-Alice Springs from next Monday April 19.
New and extended seasonal services include Melbourne to Darwin.
“Today we are operating around 850 weekly return flights and as we approach the June school holidays we will add another 220 return flights a week to our schedule,” Ms Hrdlicka said.
“By mid-June we expect to be at 80 per cent of our pre-COVID domestic capacity and ready for the resumption of international travel.”
