BASSINTHEGRASS 2022: VIP tickets, cheap flights now on sale
One of the territory’s most popular music festivals will be back in 2022, with interstate travellers expected in huge numbers as Virgin releases bargain airfares.
ALL roads lead to the Northern Territory next year, with sales now on for flights and one of the territory’s premier music festivals.
VIP tickets for BASSINTHEGRASS 2022, held on May 21, went on sale today, and organisers expect the fan-favourite, all-ages event to sell out once again.
NT major events chief executive Tim Watsford said the festival coupled with cheap airfares would be a huge win for the tourism industry.
“BASSINTHEGRASS is a firm favourite on the Territory’s calendar of events, and it’s fantastic to see VIP tickets now on sale for this iconic beachside music festival.”
“As an event that continues to grow in size and popularity each year, BASSINTHEGRASS has a significant economic impact on the Territory by boosting visitation, supporting local
businesses and putting the NT in the national spotlight,” he said.
The 2021 event drew a crowd of more than 14,000 to Mindil Beach after it was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The VIP tickets are available to those over 18 for $275, and includes express entry into the VIP area and access to their exclusive facilities as well as three free drinks, $20 towards any Mindil Beach Sunset Markets food vendor and a commemorative stubby holder.
Ticket holders will also receive a $50 voucher Adventure Discount Voucher with Travello.
General Admission tickets will follow for $110, and then Final Release tickets for $130.
The festival line-up will be released shortly, and Mr Watsford said people should get their tickets early to avoid disappointment.
“BASSINTHEGRASS 2022 is shaping up to be another incredible day of non-stop
entertainment featuring a stellar line-up of award-winning Aussie music acts,” he said.
And interstate revellers can join the fun without the hefty price tag, after Virgin Australia yesterday announced a huge sale on flights from the major cities to Darwin and Alice Springs.
The economy, one-way fares are from as low as $129 for travel between December 1, 2021 and June 23, 2022.
A spokesperson for Virgin Australia Group said it includes travel over the weekend of the NT’s biggest music festival, BASSINTHEGRASS.
“We know the Seek adveNTure sale will really help to boost passenger numbers into the Territory, particularly from the southern states, as border restrictions ease,” they said.
“With prices this low, we expect the sale fares will sell out quickly, so we’re encouraging travellers who are planning their NT holiday, to book now on our website.”
The epic ‘Seek adveNTure’ sale will run from today until midnight AEST 19 November 2021 or unless sold out.
