Tickets go on sale for 2024 edition of Darwin Cup Carnival

Tickets are now on sale for the 2024 edition of the Territory’s biggest sporting event, the Darwin Cup Carnival, with more than 40,000 people expected to attend.

The Territory’s biggest social and sporting event sees more than 40,000 people attend every year for all the colour, fashion and excitement of Top End racing.

Darwin Turf Club chief executive Grant Dewsbury said phones had been ringing constantly as locals and interstaters sought their chance to secure tickets.

“Phone enquiries started a few weeks ago, and now that tickets are on sale to the general public, the phones have been ringing solidly since Monday morning,” Mr Dewsbury said.

“Events including the Bridge Toyota Ladies Day Luncheon, Ladbrokes Let’s Talk Racing Luncheon, Sportsbet Gala Ball and the Great Northern Darwin Cup Day will again be popular.

“I urge people to go online or call the office to reserve your tickets, as we are expecting another strong uptake for these events and other days across the month-long Carnival.”

Mr Deswbury said new inclusions and changes to hospitality areas would be enhanced further after an incredibly successful 2023 edition of the Carnival.

The 2023 edition included general admission access to Centrefield, a new trackside location for the Ledger Marquee and reserved seating for the Club Lawns.

The Sportsbet Darwin Turf Club Gala Ball is also expected to be a popular option on the back of last year’s successful roll out with its new location in the centre of the Fannie Bay Racecourse.

“We’ll be making further exciting announcements in the coming months on the entertainment and artists featuring at both the ball and in centre field on Darwin Cup Day, so watch this space” Mr Dewsbury said.

The 2024 carnival commences with the running of the Darwin Guineas race day on July 6 and concludes with the Great Northern Darwin Cup to be held on Monday, August 5.
