POLICE have arrested a teenager in relation to an alleged sexual assault in Tennant Creek.
Tennant Creek Police located and arrested the 16-year-old male, who was actively avoiding police, on Sunday night.
He is currently in police custody and expected to be charged later today.
NT Police Crime Commander Martin Dole said on Sunday the alleged assault occurred late last week but the seven-year-old victim had to be flown to Alice Springs for medical attention so police were only able to take a statement from her on Sunday morning.
