A MAN threatened a supermarket employee with an edged weapon on Monday morning.
About 9:10am, a male attended the supermarket on Smith Street where he stole alcohol and attempted to flee the store.
When confronted by an employee, he threatened them with an edged weapon before fleeing the scene.
The offender is described as Indigenous, wearing a blue checkered shirt, yellow bucket hat and purple backpack.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who can help identify the man, is urged to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
