March 11, 4pm: Security officers were forced to intervene during a domestic violence disturbance in Coconut Grove on Sunday evening.

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to the incident, which occurred at around 8.30pm at a home in Progress Drive.

Police allege a man threatened a number of family members including children with an edged weapon during the disturbance.

Security officers based nearby heard the disturbance and approached the residence, causing the man to flee.

No arrest has been made and the Northern Domestic Violence Unit would like to speak with the man involved.

Duo arrested after alleged Katherine assault

March 11, 4pm: NT Police have arrested two men who allegedly assaulted a man and left him unconscious on the streets of Katherine overnight.

Police received reports a man was unconscious on Katherine Terrace about 12am Tuesday.

It’s alleged two men approached the 43-year-old victim and assaulted him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Police later arrested two men, aged 20 and 25, and are expected to lay charges.

Detective Senior Sergeant Byron May said police had identified several people who witnessed the attack.

“Police have reviewed the CCTV footage and identified several people who witnessed this unprovoked attack,” he said.

“The victim is fortunate not to have sustained serious injuries from this sickening assault.

“Detectives will continue to investigate, and we urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference NTP2500025665.”
