THE NT government has released a request for tenderers to overhaul yet another part of the State Square precinct, with politicians carparks to be demolished.
Artists impressions of the new park located in the shadow of Parliament House in Darwin were unveiled by government MLAs in March.

The redevelopment, which is yet to be costed, will link the Esplanade to the State Square lawns with green space.
“The existing 90 bay parliamentary car park is to be demolished and the area redeveloped as a landscape area with service facilities to support events and functions,” tender request documents said.
The contract stipulates that construction noise cannot interrupt MLAs debating policy in parliament on sitting days.
“During these days, the Contractor must ensure that there are no interruptions to access and the use of heavy vehicles and noisy equipment is restricted, or minimised as much as reasonable.”
