GAS explorer Empire Energy has fired up an extended fracture stimulation program at its Carpentaria-1 site in the Beetaloo Sub-basin.
The fracture stimulation program will test four thick and productive target zones.
Hydraulic stimulation operations are expected to take a week, followed by approximately a month of fluid flow-back before hydrocarbon flows are expected to start.

Mining and Industry Minister Nicole Manison, who was on site in the Beetaloo for the programs kick-off, said she was looking forward to hearing about the results of the production testing program.
“It was great to see the site and the hard work going on to progress onshore gas in the Territory,” Ms Manison said. “Seeing Empire’s work first hand, they demonstrated their commitment to sustainable environmental practices, safety and working with Traditional Owners.”
