St Mary’s skipper Dylan Landt and PINT’s ruck juggernaut Jasmyn Hewett etched their names into the NTFL history books as they both won the comp’s highest honours for a second time.

Landt made it back-to-back Nichols tilts after polling 23 votes in a season where he led the competition stats with an average of 28.9 disposals per game.

He beat out Southern Districts midfield recruit Jed Anderson by eight votes, while now fellow two-time Nichols medal winner Brodie Filo of Nightcliff trailed by nine votes.

Landt set the season alight with a 56 touch game against the Tiwi Bombers as one of his six best on ground performances, to become the 14th back-to-back winner of the Nichols medal.

The Saints skipper also took home the NT News Player of the Year trophy and the ABC Men’s Coaches MVP accolade, while his sights are now on a grand final win against Nightcliff.

Hewett will also be playing in a grand final when her undefeated Queenants take on St Mary’s on Saturday, after what has been a typically strong season for the AFLW premiership player.

The ruck won her first best and fairest in the 2020-21 season when her club seized their first ever premiership, and has her second with her side eyeing three cup tilts from four seasons.

Hewett, who was also best on ground in the NTFL rep game, collected 28 votes for the season, ahead of her PINT teammates Steph Lawrence and Reni Hicks.

The skilful ruck was ultra-consistent across the season polling in nine of her 12 matches, including seven best on ground performances.

Tiwi’s Karlson Kantilla took home the NT News Men’s Rising Star after consistently great performances in the ruck since his Round 2 debut.

The young gun made a name for himself due to his high-jumping ability which made him a real match against much bigger opponents throughout the season, while showing off his torp skills too.

The women’s Rising Star went to Palmerston’s Marika Carlton who made her debut in Round 1 after a ground breaking 2022-23 season at junior levels.

Carlton’s ability to make quick decisions, break the lines of defenders and take the game on resulted in several goals worthy of a goal of the year nomination.

Waratah’s Jayden Magro pulled off some sweet redemption winning the Dennis Dunn goal kicking medal with 63 goals to his name.
