The Chief Minister has revealed there was no new cases of Covid-19 overnight.

'Anxious time' in remote Indigenous community amid COVID-19 outbreak

UPDATE: The Northern Territory has recorded no new cases of Covid-19 overnight.

Chief Minister Michael Gunner said the total remained at 19 cases. Nine of these people are fully vaccinated, two had received one dose, five are unvaccinated and three are not eligible for vaccination.

One new close contact exposure site has been named, the Katherine BP on November 13 from 2.40pm to 4pm.

Thirty-eight close contacts have been identified at MacFarlane Primary School in Katherine, 28 children and 10 adults.

Mr Gunner said there were 2444 vaccinations administered in the Northern Territory on Wednesday, the third highest day for the NT.

Wastewater results and genomic testing are expected to be returned today, alongside close contact test results.

EARLIER: CHIEF Minister Michael Gunner will update Territorians at 11.30am Thursday on the growing Covid-19 cluster which has thrown two regions of the NT into lockdown.

The Katherine-Robinson River outbreak on Wednesday stood at 19 cases, with six of the cases being found in the remote community in the Roper Gulf region.

Authorities have been scrambling to determine the source of the infection, with Mr Gunner on Wednesday saying the leading theory was that it was connected to a previous outbreak earlier in November.

Masks have been mandatory across the Territory amid concerns the virus may have been seeded broadly in between the two outbreaks.

As of Wednesday, one woman had been hospitalised in the Royal Darwin in a stable condition, but was requiring oxygen, after being infected with the virus.

All other 18 cases had been sent, or were in the process of being sent to Howard Springs.

On Wednesday, it was revealed tracers had found only 107 of the 234 close contacts from a number of exposure sites dotted across Katherine.

More to come.
