There are eight new Covid-19 cases in the Northern Territory, including a three-week-old baby girl.

Concerns over NT Covid outbreak after nine cases recorded in Katherine

UPDATE: There are eight new cases in the Northern Territory, including a three-week-old baby girl.

In Katherine there were three new cases: a 36-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman and a 21-year-old woman.

All were household contacts of previous cases and have been taken to the Centre for National Resilience but may have been infectious while in the community.

The remaining five new cases are household contacts in Robinson River.

They include a 29-year-old man, a 23-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl and the three-week-old baby girl.

All of these cases are now being flown to Darwin to stay in the Howard Springs quarantine facility.

It comes as the NT Government requires anyone who has been in Robinson River since November 11 or in Katherine since November 7 to get tested and self-isolate.

Contact tracers have also struggled, as the information provided on hardcopy forms has been missing or illegible.

Chief Minister Michael Gunner urged anyone checking in to make sure their writing was clear and that businesses keep on top of their lists.

EARLIER: THE Northern Territory is set to record more positive cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday morning, as concern mounts around exposure sites at the Katherine Hospital.

The NT News understands more locally-acquired infections have been detected since Tuesday, when the NT recorded nine new cases across two Katherine households.

It takes the current cluster in Katherine and Robinson River to 11.

Chief Minister Michael Gunner is scheduled to update the public at 11.30am.

On Tuesday, Mr Gunner said health authorities were yet to determine whether the cluster of cases were linked to the recent Darwin-Katherine cluster from earlier this month.

The list of exposure sites is growing, with various sections of the Katherine District Hospital’s emergency department listed five times over four days, on November 11, 12, 13 and 15.

Wurli Wirlinjang Health Service’s main clinic has been listed as a close contact exposure site for Monday between 10am and 11.45am.

Residents and recent visitors to Katherine are being urged to check the NT government’s Covid-19 exposure site list.

More to come.
