Thousands of people flocked to the premier community event in the Litchfield municipality, the annual Freds Pass Rural Show.
Patron of the show Kezia Purick said the weekend event was more than a show case of rural produce, gardening, machinery, equipment and the many animals on display.
“It is a gathering of farmers, producers, families, students showing their animal handling skills and a broad cross section of community,” she said.
“It is a place where country meets city and many a good story is swapped while enjoying the delights of fresh scones, cream and jam or a freshly cooked kebab.”
Ms Purick paid tribute to show committee chair Shirley Preston and her committee for the countless hours of work and the dedication of the army of volunteers both old and young who come together for one fabulous weekend in May.
One of the favourite attractions was the dunking machine and Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro was happy to get into the spirit and take the splash, much to the appreciation of enthusiastic young children.
Not far behind her was rural pollie Deputy Chief Minister Gerard Maley.
