North Adelaide signs new sponsorship deal believed to be worth up to $100,000
NORTH Adelaide says its renewed deal with major sponsor Stellar Homes is about more than just dollars.
NORTH Adelaide says its renewed deal with major sponsor Stellar Homes is about more than just dollars.
The Roosters have re-signed the Prospect-based home builder for two years and say the deal sends a positive message to members and supporters. MORE: ROOSTERS CALL FOR FANS TO FLOCK TO FINALS Roosters chief executive Greg Edwards would not disclose the sponsorship amount, but the City North Messenger understands Stellar will contribute about $80,000-$100,000 over two years. Edwards said the deal showed major businesses in the area still wanted to be involved with SANFL clubs, despite predictions of "doom and gloom" from some. The SANFL's decision to allow the Adelaide Crows to enter a reserves team in the local league has been met with negativity by some supporters and media commentators, questioning the competition's future. Edwards said Stellar's decision to recommit to North showed businesses did not share that view. "A major sponsor gives us an obvious financial benefit but it is more than that,'' Edwards said. "It is a sign to our members and our supporters and our players that we are well supported off the oval and that local businesses want to invest in us. "For Stellar to want to be involved again is terrific. "I think (Stellar Homes general manager) Darryn Peter has enjoyed being involved with the club." North's sponsorship base has grown 35 per cent over the past two seasons which equates to about $130,000. The club has more than 70 sponsors contributing varying levels of support. Edwards said the growth was the result of hard work by the club's marketing staff. ###
