TWO men have been arrested after leading police on a chase and allegedly threatening Gold Coast residents with a firearm.

Police were called to a Kingsway Drive, Molendinar address around 2.30pm after two neighbours disturbed a burglary and were held at gunpoint.

It is alleged a stolen silver Hyundai attended the residence and one of the male occupants of the vehicle kicked in the front door of the home.

A second man remained in the stolen vehicle while his alleged accomplice began taking items from the house.

Two men from an address nearby noticed the unknown car and went to confront the driver, with one of them parking their ute in front of the vehicle.

It is alleged the driver of the Hyundai then put on a mask, pulled out a firearm and pointed it at a 22-year-old man sitting in ute.

The man then drove the stolen car across the front lawn in order to flee and the second neighbour, a 47-year-old man, approached on foot.

The man allegedly drove the Hyundai straight at him, running over his foot in the process. He was taken for treatment for a suspected fractured foot.

The 22-year-old driver of the ute followed the stolen car and rammed it from the back.

The second man then exited the home with various items of stolen property and jumped in the car, which then fled the scene as it was rammed again.

It is further alleged at around 3:30pm an unmarked police vehicle conducting patrols along Davebill Court, Labrador observed the same silver Hyundai parked in the street.

As two men returned to the car from a nearby residence the officer attempted to block the vehicle in; however, was rammed as it was driven from the scene.

A cordon was set up and it is further alleged the stolen car travelled directly towards an officer on foot attempting to intercept the vehicle.

The officer took evasive action and the car collided with a power pole.
