TV Week Logies Awards 2015: All the gossip, fashion shocks, and showdowns
IAN Thorpe was coy about his relationship with Logies performer Ricky Martin, as Julie Goodwin went wild and Lee Lin Chin got Twitter talking.
IAN Thorpe says he wouldn’t call Ricky Martin a good friend.
But the swimming legend said they have spoken a few times since his tell-all interview last year.
Thorpe attended Martin’s concert in Sydney last week.
“I don’t know if he’s a good friend,” Thorpe said.
“I’ve spoken to him a couple of times and it was something me and my friends wanted to go to.”
Thorpe said he’s working on a new TV show but couldn’t reveal details yet.
“I’ll be travelling to Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia which is fun,” he said.

Sonia Kruger’s awkward stage cut-off
The Script frontman Danny O’Donoghue appeared less than amused on stage with Sonia Kruger at the Logies.
The Irishman gestured for new mum Kruger to be cut off after an awkward exchanged he interrupted to announce the nominees for the outstanding newcomer award.
“Welcome. You’re Irish,” Kruger greeted the singer.
“I mean, we don’t mind having a drink here in Australia. You guys are used to that.”
Social media punters were quick to react questioning if the presenter had perhaps had a few too many.
“I’ve had a few dirty martinis tonight. I’m a new mum,” Kruger continued.
“Potentially could go the full Robert Allenby tonight, I’m thinking. But before that, we are here to present the Graham Kennedy award for Most Outstanding Newcomer. “
A prompt from O’Donoghue about the importance of newcomers to the industry provided further hilarity.
“They are because if we didn’t have newcomers, then there would be no old comers. And thank God for old comers because if we didn’t have new comers and old comers, then wouldn’t have any comers at all.”
Lee Lin Chin cracks up Twitter
SBS newsreader Lee Lin Chin lost in the fashion stakes but rivalled funny men Hamish & Andy with her jokes at the Logies.
Chin tweeted: “Just decided to win the gold next year, I deserve it #TVWEEKLogies”.
Her witty one-liners had social media in hysterics with quips ranging from excess beer consumption to catching the eye of a Home & Away leading man.
Julie Goodwin goes wild with Logies virgins
Homegrown chef Julie Goodwin has given us more than we bargained for shimmying and shaking for our exclusive Herald Sun video with her I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here campmates.
Why I won’t host the Logies
Julia Morris would make a great Logies host but she isn’t interested in the gig.
“I think that anyone who hosts it puts themselves up for a terrible flaming in these times of social networking so I’m not sure it’s on my list of dream jobs,” she said.
“I love the minor pressure of going on and presenting an award.”
Morris returned from co-hosting I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and went straight onto the set of House Husbands.
What a bearded lady thinks of our Guy
Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst says Australian star Guy Sebastian needs no advice to compete at the world’s most outrageous singing competition.
Wurst told Confidential: “Oh, listen. I’m not the person to give advice. He’s a superstar already. He needs no advice.
“He is such a great performer and he is singing a great song.”
Wurst said the Eurovision was “all about authenticity”. He said his victory last year “changed my whole life for the better”.
Bachelor Blake avoids Sam the Bachelorette
FOR the first time ever there was three Bachelors and a Bachelorette in the same room at the same time.
Former bachelors Tim Robards, Blake Garvey and the new recruit, Sam Wood as well as Bachelorette Sam Frost are all attending the Logies.
Frost, who was infamously jilted by Garvey last year was rushed into the ballroom ahead of Garvey and his new flame Louise Pillidge perhaps to avoid an awkward red carpet encounter.
Garvey claims there’s no longer any hard feelings between himself and Frost.
Neighbours deserves more recoginition
Veteran Neighbours star Stefan Dennis said the Logies should have acknowledged the popular soap reaching a 30 year milestone.
“I’m not saying our show is better than any other show,” Dennis, who plays Paul Robinson, said.
“But we’ve reached 30 years, so why haven’t the Logies done something?
“Thirty years speaks for itself. We’re the longest running drama or serial in Australia ever.
“I could voice my feelings, but there’s no point. All the cynicism in the world isn’t going to change anything,” Dennis said.
His comments follow reports that Channel 10 is furious that the Neighbours milestone will get a small mention at the awards ceremony.
