NEVER one to shirk a challenge, Richmond captain Trent Cotchin reckons backing into a pack is nothing compared to the fearlessness of MotoGP racing.
Race enthusiast Cotchin voiced his admiration for the stars of the elite motorcycle championship just a week out from the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island.
“I have a real appreciation for how the MotoGP riders race on the edge,’’ Cotchin, sitting on a Honda CBR1000RR machine, said.

“It’s a lot tougher than backing into a pack, that’s for sure. The speed they go through corners is awesome.’’
That corner speed can be almost 200kmh at the first turn of the famous coastal circuit which will host the three-day festival of two-wheeled racing on October 26-28.
Italian legend Valentino Rossi, Aussie Jack Miller and defending champion and last year’s Australian round winner Marc Marquez will be among fans’ favourites for the big race.
Thousands of riders from all over Australia will head to the island for the major event which includes support races, the GP Expo, stunt riders and RAAF aerial displays.
