A Catholic priest has been charged after allegedly assaulting five children at a boarding school in the NSW Southern Highlands in the 1980s.
For the past 10 months, detectives have been investigating allegations of sexual and indecent assaults that occurred at Chevalier College at Burradoo, near Bowral.
It is alleged a catholic priest, who managed a dormitory at the college, indecently assaulted five students, between the ages of 12 and 15, between 1982 and 1988.
On Friday, detectives arrested 77-year-old Anthony Caruana, who was also a rugby coach and band teacher, at a home in Kensington. He was taken to Maroubra Police Station and charged with nine offences, including sexual assault.
Caruana was granted condition bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on May 22.
