Tracey Connelly’s badly beaten body was found by her long-term boyfriend Tony Melissovas inside a white van on July 21, 2013.

Police believe she was killed inside the Ford MEconovan after the van was parked on Greeves St.
It is understood Ms Connelly had been living in and working out of the van for about a month prior to her murder.
Homicide squad boss Detective Inspector Tim Day hopes the announcement of the million dollar reward will lead to justice.
“I hope whoever is responsible for Tracey’s death thinks about it every day; I hope it weighs heavily on their mind along with the expectation that one day, police are going to catch up with them,” Detective Inspector Day said.
“It might have been almost six years since Tracey’s death, however I would like to strongly reinforce that this is both an active investigation and one that we believe is solvable,” he said.
“We always say that people’s circumstances can change over the years and someone who may not have wanted to provide information to police previously may now feel ready to do so.”
A DNA sample, which police believe belongs to her murderer, was taken from Ms Connelly’s vehicle and has been tested against about 1500 people.
“This sample is going to remain in our system, while DNA technology only gets better and better with each passing month,” Detective Inspector Day said.
“It’s a numbers game in some ways, and one we absolutely believe we can win.”
Her partner recently died but Mr Melissovas played an active role in appealing for information through the media.
Ms Connelly had many friends who worked in the St Kilda area and there was an outpouring of grief following her death.
