Police divers retrieve body in search for missing fisherman in Sydney's north

Police have issued a tragic update after a wide-scale search for a fisherman who fell from rocks over the long-weekend.

A body has been found by police divers in the search for a fisherman missing after falling from rocks in Sydney’s north.

Emergency services were called to Blue Fish Point in Manly shortly before 8am on Sunday after reports the man had fallen into the water while fishing with a group.

Police launched an extensive search operation with assistance from the Marine Area Command, Toll Ambulance Helicopter, and NSW Surf Life Saving.

After only a few hours, police divers retrieved a body believed to be that of the missing man from nearby waters about 10.30am.

Police have not officially identified the body and a report will be prepared for the information for the coroner.
