There were cheers on a Sydney train when a US man, who had launched into a six-minute anti-abortion speech, was told to “shut up” by a passenger.
The man is seen in a video uploaded to his church’s YouTube account shouting at uninterested commuters that he needed three minutes of their time.
He then begins a monologue about religion and Jesus Christ, telling the packed carriage that “we care more about saving the whales than we care about saving our unborn children”.
The speech is quickly cut off at this point by a passenger who retorts, “Yep, thanks mate, thank you”, but the man is undeterred. “Nope, I’m not going to stop”.
An exchange continues between the pair for five minutes as the passenger, who is seated with a book on his lap, repeats his wish for the man to be quiet.

“If you asked for our time we have the right to say we’re not giving it to you,” he said.
“Why won’t you just shut up? Speak quietly to someone who wants to listen”.
Fellow commuters chime in and agree as another person tells the would-be preacher “yeah shut up” before the train pulls into the station.
As the crowd leaves the carriage the man yells after them “repent Sydney for your sin” and continues his monologue to entering passengers, telling the seated man “I care about you”.
“Apparently not about our opinions because we want you to shut up,” he replies. “All I want you to do is shut up and leave me alone”.
The US national is then filmed telling the carriage to change how they live their lives, “It’s a selfish world that you live in and you need to repent,” he says.
The remark prompts an angry reply from the passenger which was then met with cheers from fellow commuters.
“Who’s the selfish one here mate, who’s the one who won’t shut up with their opinions, how selfish is that?”
