NO EXPENSE was spared flying big-name fashionistas into Brisbane for an intimate dinner to celebrate Omega’s new Constellation Manhattan collection.
One of the 18 guests who supped on spanner crab and Pommery champagne in the Edward St boutique this week was Lindy Rama-Ellis, a Balinese princess and mother of four who was married to Olympic swimmer Michael Klim for 10 years, and now lives in Indonesia with her second husband, British property developer Adam Ellis.

Also looking glamorous was Melbourne-based celebrity stylist Lana Wilkinson, who dresses models Rebecca Judd, Megan Gale and Elyse Knowles, among others.
Fashion designers Toni Maticevski (Melbourne), Rebecca Vallance (Sydney) and Paul Vasileff (Paolo Sebastian, Adelaide) attended, as did makeup artist Jade Kisnorbo (Melbourne) and lifestyle personalities Tanja Gacic (Sydney) and Chris Kontos (Adelaide).
Only six guests were Brisbane-based, including yours truly and U on Sunday fashion editor Brooke Falvey.
Chef William Wallace, who rattled the pans in Denmark’s Noma — four times voted No.1 in the world’s 50 best restaurants before it closed in 2016 — served Fraser Island spanner crab with gin-infused cucumber, lamb with kale and charred cucumber skin, and dark chocolate ganache with a halo of the lightest vanilla sponge.
The long table in Omega’s upstairs function room was elegantly dressed with gold candlesticks and white roses, with watches as centrepieces (and not for taking home).
The Constellation Manhattan automatic collection, priced from $7975 to $33,325, is the fifth makeover of Omega’s famed Manhattan style since 1982.
The dinner was the first event in the 188 Edward St boutique following its opening last October in the burgeoning designer precinct.
