New Cairns coffee option at is getting the green thumbs up

A NEW Parramatta Park business start-up has borrowed from a cult Instagram following to create a unique venture for lovers of both coffee and tropical plants.

A PARRAMATTA Park business start-up has borrowed from a cult Instagram following to create a venture for lovers of both coffee and tropical plants.

Succuliving has operated from an industrial shed close to Cairns CBD for about two years, but it was only a month ago the pop-up cafe called And Co served its first brew.

Owner Phil Schouteten said the idea came partly from a Gold Coast business called Borrowed Garden who started a plant business in an industrial shed. When the offer of a coffee machine came from Mama Coco the logical thing was to start And Co and serve coffee at the shed.

Mr Schouteten said the And Co opening had received a positive support.

“It was exciting opening it up and seeing the reaction,” he said. “The support from Mama Coco has been great too.”

Succuliving sells cactuses and succulent arrangements, runs workshops and provides table dressings at weddings and events. Since opening, the cafe has been inundated with Instagram users that come to grab a coffee and post a selfie with all manner of tropical succulents in the frame.

Find Succuliving on Instagram @succuliving or find And Co Coffee on Facebook.
