Manunda Place almost complete as more than 800 workers ready to move

HUNDREDS of public health servants are gearing up to move into their new headquarters

MORE than 800 NT Health public servants are due to move into their new $75 million Darwin CBD headquarters as early as next month.

The building, on the corner of Knuckey and Cavenagh streets, to be known as Manunda Place, is being built on the site of the old health building, which was demolished in October 2018.

A total of 6000 tonnes of concrete rubble was removed during demolition, and steel, copper, a generator and cooling tower were all recycled.

NT Health will be the anchor tenant of the building.

The nine-storey building has been designed with the tropical climate in mind, featuring internal atriums, five-star energy-efficiency and rooftop gardens.

A total of 250 construction jobs were created throughout the project.

The government hopes that bringing most of its policy, strategy and administrative staff together under one roof in the CBD will allow for better service support to clinical staff.

“Centralising NT Health administration under one roof in Manunda Place makes operational sense, and brings hundreds of extra workers into the CBD each day,” Health Minister Natasha Fyles said.
