A man’s mobile phone shielded him from being shot in the face by an arrow in northern NSW on Wednesday.
Police say the man, 43, arrived at his Nimbin house at 9am to find another man, 39, who he knew, standing outside allegedly brandishing a bow and arrow.
The 43-year-old took out his phone to take a photograph, holding it to his face as the 39-year-old allegedly engaged the bow and fired an arrow towards him.

The arrow pierced through the phone and caused the device to hit the older man on the chin leaving a small cut that didn’t need medical treatment.
Police were called and arrested the 39-year-old at the scene.
He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intent to commit an indictable offence and malicious damage.
He was granted bail and will appear in Lismore Local Court on April 15.
