UPDATE: Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 29-year-old man who fell from a cliff near the Darwin Esplanade early this morning.
Police cordoned off an area along the Esplanade, opposite from the Mantra hotel, after receiving a call that a man had fallen from a cliff at about 4am on Monday.
Paramedics from St John Ambulance declared him deceased at the scene.
NT Police said his body was recovered this morning and investigations are underway.

There were four police cars and one ambulance command vehicle on site earlier this morning which have since left.
