A YOUNG man has been arrested after he allegedly smashed a window of MLA Robyn Lambley’s office with a large pole.

The man was stopped walking through Todd Mall in Alice Springs while holding an 2.5m long metal poll, which he allegedly used to smash Ms Lambley’s office window at Helm House.

Police allege that, at about 4am on Tuesday, an 18-year-old male was arrested in front of the Rockbar.

They said the man discarded the weapon and complied with police directions.

Shortly after being arrested the man was identiefied as a person suspected for breaking an a window of the Member for Araluen’s office.

Ms Lambley said her electorate office has had four smashed windows in five months.

“A big thank you to all our hard working local coppers,” she wrote on Facebook.

Police investigations are underway and the man is likely to face charges of criminal damage and going armed in public.

Meanwhile police are investigating a break-in at Tennant Creek RSL which occurred about 11:30pm on Monday night.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers and reference PROMIS 9558975.
