THE Northern Territory’s popular swimming holes could be closed as quickly as they reopened after rangers were reportedly ignored when asking visitors to move on from busy spots.
NT Parks and Wildlife have now said they may review the park openings, just a week after they reopened, after reports of overflowing carparks and argumentative behaviour towards rangers.

“Some people seem intent on wrecking a good thing and unfortunately, if things do not improve we will have to review park openings,” an NT Parks and Wildlife post said.
“We are so disappointed … over the weekend at Buley Rockhole and Florence Falls carparks were overflowing and visitors ignored Rangers requests to change their plans (and) visitors ignored Rangers instructions to move vehicles and were argumentative.”
Reports of visitors disobeying regulation rules were also received with visitors bringing glass bottles to the pools and reported to be jumping from them, against multiple signs and warnings not to do so.
