THE search for a missing Victorian man last seen in Nitmiluk National Park has been called off.
Daymon Ness, 30, was last believed to be going for a walk alone on one of the walking trails in the popular national park in the Katherine region last Tuesday.

Crews from NT Police, Parks and Wildlife and NT Emergency Services were involved in a search to locate Mr Ness.
As well as 28 personnel on the ground, the search also employed helicopters, planes and drones to search for him over a period of five days.
“We have had to make this decision to call off the search, however the case remains open,” Superintendent Daniel Shean said.
“We are still asking that if anyone knows or has seen anything that may lead us to Mr Ness, to please come forward,” Supt Shean said.

“This has been a trying and challenging time for all involved and I’d like to thank everyone for their sensitivity and professionalism,” he said.
His parents, who are currently quarantining at the Howard Springs facility near Darwin, on Friday described their son’s disappearance as “very out of character.”
