ORGANISERS of the Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival will look to livestream the community event in a bid to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
Seabreeze Festival production manager Ahva Dub said the festival would go ahead, with performances to be shown online and through media platforms.
“We’re going to broadcast the Seabreeze weekend on TV, as well as Facebook live and probably YouTube and radio as well, we’ve got Mix 104.9 FM on board,” he said.
“It’ll still have all the elements that we can possibly squeeze in, including art competitions and community stalls but unfortunately no markets and no beer – everyone will have to sort that out for themselves.”
It could see them big winners under a Darwin council scheme now rewarding community groups for innovative ideas to continue to operate under the pandemic.

The council proposal could see the festival receive $10,000, which Dub said would go towards funds already lost in production costs.
“Mainly the funds would go straight into technical stuff and to Darwin locals,” he said.
