Opinion: Only the CLP can deliver jobs for the Territory

AFTER four years of Labor, our economy has been brought to its knees. Only the CLP has a real jobs plan which makes investing in the Territory easier and approvals faster.

Live export ban 'a result of reckless city-centric Labor govts'

ALMOST a decade ago, Labor recklessly stopped the cattle trade and brought our economy to its knees.

Just last week, after a lot of hard work and a little luck, we won an “unwinnable” battle and our cattlemen will finally be able to get back on track.

This unprecedented legal victory in the Federal Court will protect families and businesses from unlawful and negligent government decisions.

This is what we can achieve when we work together.

When Labor recklessly destroyed our cattle industry, they lit a fire in me. That’s why I’m running in Fannie Bay.

As treasurer in a new Country Liberals government, I will fight for a diversified economy that produces local jobs, opportunities and safety for our community.

After four years of Labor, our economy has again been brought to its knees. Under Labor, we have lost 21,000 local jobs and we are now $7bn in debt. Job-creating investment has reduced by $3.2bn.

Our families and friends are being forced interstate to find work, while the value of our family homes falls.

No amount of reckless spending has been able to stop our economy bleeding.

CLP to toughen Giles-era public housing ‘red card’ penalty system if they take government at election

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, pre-Covid Labor had already lost 11,000 jobs.

The recent CBA’s State of the States report, makes clear that Labor’s recklessness has produced the worst performing economy in Australia.

And most concerning of all, population growth under Labor is last. Covid didn’t cause this. Labor did.

And yet the Chief Minister refuses to attend election debates and refuses to be held accountable for the job losses.

Many Territorians feel that Labor is using the current crisis as part of their re-election campaign.

Obviously, Territorians can see through the spin. Michael Gunner’s contemptuous election debate no-shows demonstrate that the only job he’s seeking to save is his own.

Population growth is king. A growing population indirectly drives other sectors like housing, car sales, and retail spending. But to grow the economy we need real jobs.
