THE dual citizenship scandal engulfing Parliament has worsened with cabinet minister Fiona Nash revealing she is also a British citizen.
But Senator Nash, who is the deputy leader of the Nationals as well as the holder of a number of regional ministries, will not resign her positions.
Instead, the government will refer her to the High Court as it has former resources minister Matt Canavan and Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce.

The government sought advice from Britain about Senator Nash’s citizenship status, which was received today, as was advice from the Solicitor General.
Senator Nash met with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull this afternoon.
“On the basis of the Solicitor General’s advice, the Prime Minister has indicated to me he sees no reason for me to stand aside from my portfolio responsibilities,” Senator Nash said.
Senator Nash becomes the sixth parliamentarian to be hold a dual citizenship, with the week in Canberra largely consumed with debate about Mr Joyce’s status.
