Cairns Southern Access Corridor upgrade: Kenny Street roundabout to be removed

Diversions are in place on a busy Portsmith thoroughfare while a roundabout is given the flick in favour of traffic lights as part of the Southern Access Corridor upgrade.

ROADWORKS in Portsmith are cracking on with motorists diverted from the Kenny Street roundabout on a new southbound lane into Draper Street.

As part of a major works program to upgrade the Southern Access Corridor, the Draper/Kenny streets roundabout will be replaced with traffic signals.

The existing four-lane dual carriageway is being upgraded to a six-lane dual carriageway between Links Drive and Aumuller St.

Additional works include upgrades through to Draper and Kenny streeets.

Motorists are encourged to take care during the works.
