FETTA’S Greek Taverna has put together a special “picnic pack” takeaway menu for open-air diners making the most of relaxed social distancing rules this weekend.
Owner George Karagiannis said restaurants had to think outside the box to make ends meet during the COVID-19 crisis.
The State Government’s decision to allow picnics from this weekend created an opportunity to cater for people who wanted something tastier than a ham sandwich slapped together at home.
“I can’t wait to see my customers again, to have fun and to have people coming here again,” Mr Karagiannis said.
The Grafton St restaurant is open for lunch and dinner takeaways but business is slow.
Mr Karagiannis said the tourist exodus revealed how few people lived in the CBD.
“There are only two people I know of living in the whole of Grafton St. We must be the lowest- populated place in the world when it comes to city living.
“We need to cut the red tape … for people to build apartments in the city – it’s the only way,” he said.
