A GOLD Coast dentistry is ditching the tools and firing up a pizza oven.
Marc Kinvig, the owner of Varsity’s Blackboard cafe, is preparing to turn the old Coastal Dental site on Treeview Drive in Burleigh Waters into a new pizzeria called T’amero.
Kinvig is teaming up with the owners from cafe Home Plate Kitchen at Treeview Drive Shopping Centre, to open the “out-of-the-box community pizza joint” late-September.

“I live around the corner, I am good friends with the people from Home Plate and then the dentist came up — it’s perfect,” Kinvig said.
“It’s definitely a cool spot for a night time venue because there is nothing around.
“We want to take a different angle of family eating and do things that aren’t super common - something out-of-the-box.”
Beer, woodfire pizza and meatballs will be on the menu, plus more.
