Man shot by police after Gold Coast incident

Paramedics have rushed to a Gold Coast address and a crime scene has been established after a man was shot following a confrontation with police.

A man has been shot by police at Burleigh.

A man has been shot by police following an incident in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.

Around 7:30pm police were called to reports of an armed man in his 30s making threats at a residence in Gardenia Grove.

The man was immediately given medical assistance.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the man was transported to Gold Coast

University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police remain at the scene.
