No club will better represent the agony and ecstasy of finals footy than Ivanhoe Knights when the Cairns District Rugby League post-season kicks off at Barlow Park on Sunday.
The Knights will take the field in all three elimination finals, with the U18s to take on Mareeba and defending premiers to face Southern Suburbs in reserve grade.
The A-grade clash with Atherton shapes as a blockbuster between two teams who were, at one stage, among those setting the pace in the top flight.
Bulk injuries ruined both teams’ charge for the top 3, which guarantees a second chance in the
post-season, and now they will be forced to play-off for their future.

Atherton has similarly been forced to blood a number of young, rising talents, though Graham Clark Snr will be confident his charges can get the job done.
