ABERFOYLE PARK lawn bowler Scott Thulborn has won state singles, doubles and triples titles and represented South Australia.

But nothing has given him more pleasure on the bowling green than finding success alongside his parents.

Thulborn, 29, has won the past three SA triples titles with his dad, Dave, and played in the same rink as him in Adelaide Bowling Club's reigning back-to-back premiership sides.

For the past two years, Thulborn has also lined up in state mixed pairs tournaments with his mum, Chris, reaching a semi-final last season.

Thulborn, who will represent Adelaide Endurance in the new Australian Premier League in Queensland this month, said the sport had brought the family closer together.

"We give each other very honest feedback," he said.

"To do the premierships and three triples with dad is very special.

"Mum plays at Ascot Park because Adelaide don't have a ladies team.

"She plays third-tier but if we ever played her there'd be a bit of sledging going on."

Thulborn, who started playing bowls at 15, joined Adelaide in 2008 after it advertised for a greenkeeper.

"I'm on the greens from sun up to sun down," he said.

He said the Australian Premier League - which will be televised on Fox Sports and features six teams and shorter games - was a prime opportunity for him to impress national selectors.
