A TEENAGE boy has admitted seriously injuring a man during a deadly street brawl at Mount Gambier last year.
On Tuesday, the youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in the Adelaide Youth Court and pleaded guilty to recklessly causing serious harm to Anthony Wilson in May, 2017.
Mr Wilson was left with severe head injuries and flown to the Flinders Medical Centre after the fight, which police said involved two groups of men.
Rex Court, 32, a friend of Mr Wilson’s, was also injured during the altercation and later died in hospital.
The teenager was initially one of three people charged with murder over Mr Court’s death but that charge was later withdrawn by prosecutors.
Murder charges remain against brothers Jordan and Dominic Von Stanke but Adelaide Magistrates Court heard last month that the pair were negotiating a plea deal with prosecutors.
Judge Penelope Eldridge on Tuesday continued the boy’s bail and he will face court next week for sentencing submissions.
He made no comment as he left the court with his mother.
