SA Police have slammed distracted motorists after handing out nearly 500 fines in just five days as part of their Operation Fatal Distraction blitz.

Australian drivers distracted 45 per cent of the time: research

SA Police have slammed "selfish" motorists after handing out nearly 500 fines last week as part of their crackdown on distracted drivers.

Operation Fatal Distraction ran between Monday and Friday last week, and SA Police said the results were concerning.

With 483 expiation notices issued in just five days, head road safety officer Superintendent Robert Gray said people still aren't getting the message.

"These large numbers are the reason why we conduct these operations," he said.

"If your focus isn't 100 per cent on the road while driving, then you're not only being irresponsible, you're being incredibly selfish."

Operation Fatal Distraction, which heavily focused on mobile phone use, ran across seven local services and four districts.

"I assure you, we will continue to target those who are doing the wrong thing so we can work towards safe, fatal free roads in South Australia," Superintendent Gray said.

The road toll in South Australia is currently 74, compared with 43 this time last year.

But it wasn't until "literally just before" doing a scene the director would come up with lines for Robbie.

"Margot remembers them all and commits to them as if they were written scenes that we had rehearsed for three weeks," Tarantino said.

"It was kind of amazing."

The movie opens in Australia on Thursday.
