SA Police Major Crime investigating death of Steven Hinrichsen in Morphett Vale
Police have returned to the home of a southern-suburbs grandfather who was found dead on Saturday to search for clues. Three people have been charged with the murder.

Three people have been charged with the murder of a southern-suburbs grandfather described by his grieving daughter as “one of a kind”.
The body of Steven Hinrichsen, 63, was found at his Nathan Court, Morphett Vale, home just after 9am on Saturday.
A Morphett Vale woman, 41, was arrested at the property after calling authorities to conduct a welfare check. A Christie Downs man, 43, was arrested at his home a short time later and a third person – a Christie Downs man, 45 – was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon.
Police on Saturday night charged the trio with the murder of wheelchair-bound Mr Hinrichsen. They are due to appear in court on Monday.
Mr Hinrichsen’s daughter, Lisa Hinrichsen, told the Sunday Mail her father – a Port Adelaide supporter – loved his kids and three grandchildren.
“My dad wasn’t amazing his whole life but he was still my dad over the years and he tried his best,” Ms Hinrichsen, 28, said. “My dad was one of a kind and was always here for me.
“He also loved footy and being with loved ones. I love him dearly and he will be forever missed.”
Superintendent Yvette Clark said a motive had yet to be established.
“It appears to be a targeted issue,” she said.
Supt Clark said it was too early to tell if a weapon had been used in the killing.
Forensic investigators combed the scene for clues as Major Crime detectives doorknocked neighbours seeking information.
A white station wagon was towed away from the house shortly after 3pm on Saturday.
On Sunday, police and the State Emergency Services returned to search for evidence following the murder of a wheelchair-bound grandfather.
Major Crime detectives went to the house on Sunday and bagged numerous items from inside, while SES volunteers scoured grassland nearby for clues.
Police said on Saturday it was too early to tell if a weapon had been used in the killing.
They said a motive had yet to be established.
Neighbour Mandi McGlynn said Mr Hinrichsen was recently wheelchair-bound.
“He kept to himself,” she said. “This has been a great shock. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
