A FATHER and his teenage son have been charged after a sickening video emerged of a young boy being bashed in Port Augusta.
The middle-aged man was purportedly caught on camera egging on his teenage son to viciously assault another teenager on Monday afternoon.
Both were charged with aggravated assault.
The duo are seen approaching the victim at the start of the video, and accusing him of spitting on a female family member.
They circle the teenager, and the father tells him if “throws a punch at my boy, I’m going to smash you”, while the son begins to attack him.
The victim asks “to be left alone” but the older man is heard continuing to egg his son on. The victim is forced to the ground while the son punches him repeatedly in the chest while the father tells him to “apologise”.
They force him to his knees, and continue to urge him to “apologise” before he is tackled to the ground again and punched repeatedly by the son.
“You better ... mean it. You know what’s going to happen to your ... family if I ever heard you say any ... thing again?” the dad says.
“I’m going to come to your ... house and it’s going to be ... hell. You got it?”
“You spit on my daughter again and I’m going to cave your ... head in.”
After the son punches the victim in the head, he is allowed up and able to leave. Fortunately, he did not have any serious injuries.
The father was bailed to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court in January 2, while the arrested boy was bailed to appear in the Port Augusta Youth Court on January 3.
