Heavily armed police and detectives have arrested a man and woman in connection with the murder of a man in Hackham West.
The man, 42, and a woman, 34, became the centre of a major manhunt following the brutal death of Shaun Thomas Russell, 36, on Saturday.
Found barely alive at the Corinth Road Playground, local resident Mr Russell was given CPR by passers-by, but could not be revived.
The search for the pair on Tuesday was centred north of Adelaide following a sighting in that area.
The suspects were also known to frequent towns in the Yorke Peninsula.
Just after 7pm, Major Crime detectives with STAR group officers raided a Waterloo Corner property and arrested the pair without incident.
They were taken to the City Watch House and have since been charged with murder. They are expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
A blue 2005 Holden Commodore and a grey caravan at the address were seized for forensic testing.
A photo from a police video camera was released showing the pair on Honeypot Rd near the park about 1.20pm on Saturday after reports of a couple arguing in the area.
Officers spoke with the pair and recorded their details.
“No complaint was made to police by either party, no evidence was seen of a physical altercation or any other criminal activity involving the individuals,” a police spokeswoman said.
“No third party was with the man or the woman at that time.”
